Public Access Defibrillator

A Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) is a defibrillator located in a public place, such as a local business, shopping centre or hotel. These defibrillators are specifically designed to be quick and easy access to ensure  the best chance of survival for someone undergoing sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

For every minute that defibrillation is delayed the chance of recovery decreases by 10% so every second counts, and this is why St John is leading the charge in creating a broad network throughout the ACT so every member of the community has the best chance of survival.
