St John Ambulance (ACT) provides a wide range of first aid courses, giving you the skills, knowledge and confidence to successfully treat common injuries and possibly save a life. The courses, many of which are nationally accredited, are delivered by qualified professional first aid trainers.

Provide First Aid and CPR

Provide First Aid

Learn the essential skills to help an ill or injured person at work or in the home (Previously known as Senior First Aid).

Course includes:

  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid

This is a supervised assessment only course which allows experienced first aiders to gain accreditation through competent demonstration of essential first aid techniques.

  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid

Learn the skills to revive someone who is unconscious and not breathing using Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Defibrillation.

This course covers child specific first aid including asthma and anaphylaxis and is specifically designed to meet the needs of people working in the childcare and early childhood learning industry.

Caring For Kids

Designed to equip parents, grandparents and carers with the knowledge to manage basic, everyday first aid situations specific to children up to age of seven, as well as empowering them to know what to do should the worst case scenario occurs.

This course is not nationally accredited.

Junior First Aid – School Holiday Program

Junior First Aid is a course designed specifically for 8 to 13 year olds to build their confidence and skills in dealing with first aid situations.

Sharps and Infectious Waste

This course is aimed at providing the participant with information on the potential hazards associated with sharps and infectious waste; how to safely dispose of sharps and infectious waste, and what to do in the event of needle stick exposure.
