It’s National Volunteer Week, and this year’s theme is Changing communities. Changing lives, which is certainly something our incredible volunteers do throughout the year! We were delighted to feature some of our volunteers during volunteer week, because they are truly worth celebrating!
Some of our volunteers worked alongside the Australian Army while on deployment recently, to assist those in fire affected areas during the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires. Being a First Responder in such challenging circumstances takes skill, dedication and training, and our volunteers continue to demonstrate incredible composure in difficult and demanding situations.
We have long-standing volunteers who have been with St John Ambulance ACT for many years, including Val who has been volunteering with us for almost 50 years. They support each other and our community in so many ways, they assist people in need when they need a safe place, including while doing shifts for CBR NightCrew. Their compassion and community spirit is above and beyond and we are so grateful for each and every one of our volunteers, who are the heart and inspiration of St John Ambulance ACT and CBR NightCrew. Thank you!
