Dear Valued Students, Clients, Volunteers and Staff,
Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our students, clients, staff and volunteers.
As health care professionals, we are well aware of requirements around medical safety and continue to ensure a high level of hygiene within St John ACT.
We have a responsibility to the public to ensure their safety while interacting with St John ACT. We have assessed the risks around continuation of service delivery and training, and given rapidly changing advice on non-essential gatherings have made the decision to suspend all trade effective from Thursday March 19 2020. This includes First Aid Training, restocking, and Divisional Training Nights for Volunteers.
The staff are all well, will continue to work through this period and the Deakin office will remain open unless otherwise advised.
We see this as an opportunity to refine our training, make some building repairs and prepare to return more amazing than ever. We, as a team are excited by the opportunity this brings to increase our service and offerings to the Canberra community.
We would like to thank our amazing staff and clients for working together to keep us all safe and well. St John Ambulance has been on the front line for hundreds of years, we have a rich history across the world and have assisted and worked though many pandemics, including the plague and Spanish Flu, we will stand strong together and work through COVID-19, always ready to assist where required and ensuring the protection and safety of all who choose to support us.
We look forward to welcoming you back after the immediate threat of COVID-19 has passed.
St John has worked diligently over the last year to establish a position of strength and one in which we are able to weather the storm. We have a bright future and will continue to serve and care for our community for many years to come.
